To always keep the dogs' bests interests in mind by careful consideration of the outcomes for our dogs in all we do.To focus on what is best for dogs.
To assist dog breeders in achieving the highest potential of their breeding programs, dog owners to be responsible pet owners and pet carers and dog rescue workers to excel in their professions by providing education and resources and by showing how standards of excellence can be achieved.
To promote the public awareness, respect and accessibility of MDBA accredited breeders, rescue, dog owners and pet carers through public relations and education throughout the community.
To uphold the integrity of our Registry, with a focus on breeding dogs for health, temperament, type and function by establishing standards of breeding, keeping pedigrees and health records issuing certificates and statistics concerning pure-breed dogs.
To provide an international third party arm's length pedigree registry for all recognised breeds of dogs and breeds in development.
To advocate for the dog as a family companion and to protect the rights of all dog owners by building relationships and showing a strong preference for science based political and legislative decisions with a desire for animal welfare initiatives most appropriate to the canine species over animal rights propaganda.
To promote responsible dog ownership and public safety through education and support
To assemble a strong network of responsible dog owners to ensure the restoration and preservation of a dog-friendly society by promoting the benefits of unity and MDBA membership.
To maintain effective monitoring of our members to ensure the welfare of their dogs by implementing systems to allow us to do this with a priority on prevention rather than cure.
To empower individuals with skills and resources to change the world for dogs by making a positive difference to their knowledge base and practices by providing education, support and to show how a standard of excellence in dog breeding, dog ownership and canine care is achievable.
